Mentoring Skills for Mentors and Mentees
Feb 29th & March 21st 9.00am - 1.00pm
Carol Hindes Room, Les Cotils
Course Outline: -
An experiential course run over 2 half days for those who wish to learn the essential skills for mentoring others, as well as how to make the most of mentoring for themselves.
At Johansen Executive Coaching we believe that mentoring is a two-way process and will only really work if both parties benefit from the experience. In today’s fast moving world we also need to break away from the traditional, “wise old sage” approach to find time effective ways to get the most out of what mentoring is available to us.
This course will cover: -
• Our expectations of a good mentor / mentoring programme
• Mentoring as a two-way process for the benefit of both parties
• The similarities and differences between coaching and mentoring
• Alternatives to the “wise old sage” approach
• How to benefit from mentoring yourself
• Practical experience of essential coaching skills
• Delegates will work in pairs and triads in the course and also, if possible, between the 2 dates to practise the skills they have obtained.
